Privacy Policy
What SueYou collects during this preview, and where it goes
Draft. No lawyer has reviewed this page yet. It describes the SueYou preview, and it will be replaced before SueYou opens.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers sueyou.app, the SueYou web app, SueYou PRO and the iPhone demo, all run by The Suing Company, LLC. Questions can go to hello@sueyou.app.
2. Our approach to privacy
SueYou isn't open to the public. There are no accounts, no real lawyers and no real cases, so we built the preview to collect as little as possible. Please don't enter real, private or confidential details about a dispute. Use made-up details to try the demo.
3. The information involved
- What you type in the demo. Your story, case details, quotes, messages and any name you enter.
- Small site notes. Which photo and examples you saw last, so the next visit looks different.
- Technical details. Your IP address, browser and the pages you request, as seen by our hosting and font providers.
- Emails you send us. Your address and what you write.
4. Where it is kept
What you type in the web app stays in your own browser, in local storage. It isn't sent to us. The iPhone demo keeps what you enter in memory on your device, and it clears when the app quits.
5. How we use information
Your browser uses the demo data to run the demo. We use emails only to reply to you.
6. Who receives information
- Speech services turn your voice into text if you choose to talk instead of type. You're asked for the microphone first. On the web, your browser's maker, such as Google or Apple, may process what you say. In the iPhone app, Apple's speech recognition does this, on your phone where possible and otherwise on Apple's servers, and Apple may use it to improve its speech technology. SueYou doesn't record your voice.
- GitHub Pages hosts the site, and may log your IP address, browser and the pages you request.
- Google Fonts delivers the site's typeface, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address.
- Your browser's speech service. The web app's microphone uses your browser's speech recognition. Some browsers send your audio to their provider to turn it into text. SueYou doesn't receive that audio, and you can always type instead.
We don't send what you type to a lawyer, because no real lawyers are connected. We don't send it to an AI model, because the AI in this preview is scripted.
7. Selling and advertising
We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We don't use advertising tools. See Your Privacy Choices.
The website and web app don't set cookies. They use your browser's own storage for what they need to work, like keeping you signed in and remembering your cookie choices. If you turn on Performance, we count page visits and your state on our own server. Those are daily totals that can't identify you, and nothing goes to an outside company. Nothing optional runs until you agree, and you can change your choices at any time in Cookie Settings.
To show the privacy rules for your state, your browser asks Cloudflare, which runs our domain's network, which state you appear to be in. Cloudflare works this out from your IP address, and our lookup keeps no record of it. You can change your state in Cookie Settings. We keep a record of each cookie choice for three years, with a random ID, your choices and your state, and no name or IP address.
8. How long information is kept
Demo data stays in your browser until you clear it. Hosting and font providers keep logs under their own policies. We keep emails for as long as we need them to reply and run the company.
9. Your choices
To remove demo data, use Reset demo in the web app's Account page, or clear this site's data in your browser. You can also ask about, correct or delete anything you've emailed us.
10. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Demo data in your browser isn't encrypted by SueYou, so anyone using the same browser can see it. See Security.
11. U.S. state privacy rights
Some states give residents rights to access, correct, delete or opt out of the sale of their personal information. Because we hold so little, most requests will concern emails you've sent us. Write to us and we'll respond. Which laws apply to a live service will be reviewed before launch.
12. Visitors outside the United States
This preview is aimed at people in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, including the EU or UK, the providers above may process your information in the United States.
13. Children
This preview is meant for adults. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect children's information.
14. Before SueYou opens
A real service would handle sensitive case information, so this policy will be replaced before launch. The new policy will cover what is collected, who can see it, how long it's kept, and the rights that apply where you live.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this page. The date at the top shows the latest version.
